Eli Levin presents an artist talk with Annie McCone Lopez, a painter recently selected for the West Coast edition of New American Painters.
McCone-Lopez will discuss her recent experience at the Grand Canyon Artist-in-Residency on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. She draws inspiration from her Mexican heritage and culture, its rich symbology providing a framework for her ideas. Strategies for conservancy of the Colorado River influence her current work, an 8ft long codex depicting the river.
