This three day intensive workshop will provide a detailed and straightforward approach to carving a life sized portrait bust in limestone. Students will learn to use hand tools to simplify the form into planes and translate details into manageable and easy to tackle shapes.

Experience is not necessary for the course, but students with prior carving experience may explore other types of stone such as marble or alabaster.

A block of limestone is provided with the course and beverages will be provided throughout the day.

Students will be responsible for their lunch and tools.
